Sinan Bolat Sees Your Penalty, Hans-Jorg, And Raises You A Stoppage Time Header.

With the Champions League kayos out of reach for Standard late into extra time they had one final shot at drawing even, or else they’d go from potential big money knockouts participants to out of Europe altogether. Everybody pushed forward, including the keeper, for their last chance at a goal and thus the Europa League. Goalkeepers often provide the dramatic heroics, but Sinan Bolat provided an entirely different kind than we’re used to.

Standard followed up their stunningly dramatic equalizer with a curious celebration which can only be described as PG-13.

*Bow chicka Bow Bow* - Footy must be the most openly loving sport around. Yet, curiously, Cannavaro has never played with someone gay on the pitch (but NOT on the pitch...?). Kick homophobia out of football. Ummm, we'd better, before 1/2 the game comes out... .
  • That was kinda, sorta awesome. Reminded me of the not so old Sao Paolo days when Ceni would take free kicks. And of course Chilavert for Paraguay had a few nice goals
