Sofia Loren, 72, will Strip if Napoli are Promoted

When it comes to the Serie B promotion race I kind of have a soft spot for Napoli. The club has been in decline since the rocking Maradona days of the mid-80s when they won the scudetto for the first time. They slipped into Serie B, declared bankruptcy and played a couple of seasons in Serie C.

All of this has been tough on their creative and calculating fans. With five games left in their season they are in third place in Serie B this season, five points behind second place Genoa in the race for an automatic promotion spot.

I was all ready to throw my support behind them until I read today that Napoli fan and 50s sex siren (side note: such a nicer term than WAG, dontcha think?) Sofia Loren said that she will bare all if her club goes up.

“I hope that Napoli win these last few games. You watch if we go up I will do a striptease,” she told Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview on Tuesday. “The fans have a total passion, the city deserves promotion.

This is the same Sofia Loren who is now 72 years old. Where was this offer 50 years ago? She might be hotter than your average Wayne Rooney date, but she still is old enough to be a granny. Surely she could recruit one of the numerous Italian WAGs to do the stripping for her. That would be one way for Napoli to grow their support.

  I was in Love with Sofia in the 50’s and still in Love with her and would still do her. Bring on the Striptease Sofia….
