Soundoff: How Low Can Your Football Team Go Before You Get Angry?
By: Daryl | December 11th, 2009
Yesterday we asked for your World Cup expectations. Today it’s all about club football. Particularly because of the situation at Liverpool, who’ve been knocked out of the Champions League early and currently sit 7th in the Premier League (and face Arsenal on Sunday). Whatever your feelings about Rafa Benitez, I imagine Liverpool’s current position is very much below what Liverpool fans find acceptable.
Surely every team (or at least every fan) has a lower limit. A level which is unacceptable for their club. A point which, if reached, they’ll demand that something changes (usually the manager).
Of course, it’s different for everyone. For my team Wolves I could definitely tolerate being relegated from the Premiership, and could also tolerate not being promoted from the Championship (and did so for many many years). But for myself, Wolves finishing below mid-table in the Championship is 100% unacceptable. That would make me mad.
So two questions:
1. Who’s your team?, and
2. How low can they go before you get angry?
