Soundoff: When Have You Betrayed Your Team?

Rob of the EPL Offside has posed a question, and we think it’s a good one. Having committed an act of pure treason back in 2004 – we’ll let you see which one – he’s wondering:

Offsiders, when did you let your country, or your club down the most? Did you cheer for a rival side once? Have a similar experience to me? Go to Wembley to watch your rivals, just so you could go see Wembley? Not go to a game even though you could?

I think I did once – if video games count. During one of our infamously epic Exams? What are those? Month Long FIFA Tournaments in college I was forced to select my team last (it was in ascending order of best looking, most smartest, etc.). Any team with even the slightest chance of winning was taken – Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy, etc. – and I begrudgingly went with…..France. I think even Wales had been taken and I had no other choice. Through no great surprise I got absolutely creamed by Italy in the semis – Alberto Gilardino scoring roughly seven hundred and fifty goals was the only small part where virtual reality didn’t mirror reality – and I still need to shower just thinking about it.

So go to Rob’s post and let us know your most shameful moment.
