Stay Classy, Gremio
By: Bob | June 21st, 2007
The Brazilian club Gremio were counting on its home support to help them overcome a 3-0 deficit entering the second leg of the Copa Libertadores but not even resident Arsenal fan Osama Bin Laden nor the fireworks they reportedly let off the night before in front of the visiting team’s hotel nor the booing of the Argentina national anthem could make a difference against Boca Juniors. Juan Roman Riquelme was superb once again, scoring a brace to give the Argentine club a 5-0 aggregate victory. It is the fourth time in seven years that Boca has won the Big Cup in South America and the sixth time overall. The goals are after the jump.
