Steve Claridge wants to Play for your Team

claridge_steve_19980405_mr_l.jpgYou would think after a playing career which saw him suit up for no less than 18 different clubs, Steve Claridge would have little problem finding one more team that will take him on for one more game. The 40-year-old Claridge was released by Walsall (a team recently linked with the best striker in England) earlier this year and he is stuck on 999 games played. He is offering up his services for free so he can reach that magical 1,000-game milestone and receive the obligatory rocking chair that comes with it.

If Claridge doesn’t latch on to another team, he could always teach geography. Here is a list of the teams for whom he has played and coached. It is a pity he couldn’t have pulled off the Wanderers’ trifecta by playing for Bolton.

Aldershot Town
Birmingham City
Bournemouth
Bradford City
Brighton & HA
Brentford
Cambridge United
Crystal Palace
Fareham Town
Gillingham
Leicester City
Luton Town
Millwall
Portsmouth
Walsall
Weymouth
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wycombe Wanderers
