Studs Up: Bryan Robson to Newcastle?

Newcastle fans have had things bad enough in recent years, but things might be about to get a lot worse. Joe Kinnear’s recent health problems casting doubt over whether he’ll return to managing the Toon Army (and if I was Joe Kinnear, that’s the last thing I’d want to be doing).

And the latest rumour has Mike Ashley lining up Bryan Robson (yep, that Bryan Robson) to steer Newcastle clear of relegation. No part of that sentence makes sense to me.

The absolutely gigantic irony here is that not so very long ago Terry Venables had to be called to Middlesbrough on a short term deal to stop Robbo getting the ‘Boro relegated. So maybe we’ll see Robbo called in as a short term replacement at Newcastle this month and then El Tel as an even shorter term replacement next month.
