Swarm of Termites Postpones Football Game in Chile

By: Bob | March 15th, 2007

termite_dead.JPGAt least they weren’t locusts. A match between Universidad de Chile and O’Higgins has been postponed because a swarm of termites has damaged the seating areas at O’Higgin’s stadium. The little buggers must be lying contently on their backs with wood-filled bellies because they did so much damage that the stadium will have to be closed until May. It has been a rough year for Universidad de Chile. The club declared bankruptcy, has had three matches postponed because of shitty stadiums and fired its coach this week after scoring only one goal thus far in the Apertura championship. The only good news is that the band Manchuca still loves them.
