Thai Trio Sign for Man City, Will Probably Never Play
By: Daryl | November 17th, 2007In news not at all connected to Thaksin “Frank” Shinawatra’s nationality, Manchester City have signed the three Thai players who had been on trial at the club. Suree Sukha, Kiatprawut Saiwaew and Teerasil Dangda have all signed three year contracts for undisclosed wages and transfer fees. They’re the first Thai players to sign with a Premiership club, and it’s been suggested the signings are intended to boost Shinawatra’s popularity ahead of Thai elections. Whether the signings are politically motivated or not, the trio aren’t exactly going straight in the first team.
”To tell the truth, these three players will not be playing in the English Premier League this year,” Eriksson said. ”They have to prove whether they are able to play in the Premier League or not. They may be able to play in the Premier League next season especially the fullback Suree [shaking Sven's hand in the image] who has the ability to play for City but it all depends on him to show his skill to us.”
So one of the three players Sven has signed might almost be good enough to actually play for the team? Fantastic news for City fans, eh? As well as the possible political maneuvering, this is obviously designed to increase the appeal of Man City in Asia and make some money, and also to give opportunities to the Thai players. But if they spend the next three years in the reserves then does that really do their careers any good?

It’s all a publicity stunt by Frank Sinatra to get himself in his country’s good books.
Look at Sven’s face… have you noticed that he really looks like he couldn’t be bothered with all this crap!

This is Sick and typical of Thaksin. On the English Man City site there’s no mention of these pretenders (bless ‘em as they are being manipulated), but open the Thai Language site and they’re bloody superstars! This is Thaksin politics, a greedy power crazed ego who pays voters for their mark. As for the picture of him on the site, pure ego, and the declaration Long Live the King on a Premier League site is totally out of place and 100% arselicking and fawning the ignorant Thai (Issan) public!
