The English Premier League Value-for-Money Table

manchester-city-fans.jpgWhen you decided which football team you would follow and support for life you took into consideration that value you would receive for your money, right? If value is measured in terms of home goals, which is something my financial adviser has never suggested but then again he keeps telling me to put all my money in Enron stock, than the supporters of Manchester City should be asking for their money back.

According to the numbers crunchers at the finance Web site Fool.co.uk, Manchester City fans got the least value for their money during the 2006/2007 English Premier League season when you compare the price of a season ticket with the number of goals scored at home during the season. Manchester City only mustered 10 goals at home during the year, which means that their season ticket holders spent on average £46.75 per goal. Maybe that is why they don’t think more often about their team.

Blackburn fans, on the other hand, were shrewd investors. Their team scored 31 goals at home at a mere cost of £11.25 per goal. While Everton were only the fourth best value in terms of goals, surely their fans got their money’s worth.
