The Flip Throw-in Doesn’t Always Work

By: Laurie | April 10th, 2008

I’m normally not a fan of videos of anything showing infliction of physical pain. But this video just gets funnier every time I watch it. (Ignore the first example. The fun starts with the second.)

This came to us via a German blog, Fanartisch, with a link to a post entitled “Kung-Fu-Einwurf.” I don’t speak German, but how can you resist a title like that?

Einwurf apparently just means throw-in, and the link has several examples of the technique being used effectively. But for some reason this one remains my favorite. The slo-mo just makes it for me.

Does this make me a sadist?

    HAHAHA that was hysterical.

I love the super slo-mo when you hear the guy’s face just get wrecked by the ball flying.

And the guy yelling ‘NO WAY!!!!?!?!?’

Haha. I didn’t know people still did the flip throw-in. I thought it ended in the 90’s. Oh well, still hilarious.

More importantly, why did the ref give possession to the white team? Dangerous play?

Yeah I dont understand what the ref called. On my high school soccer team we had this one guy that would do the throw-ins like that for us. He was a gymnast so it was natural for him.
