The Questionable Editing of a Funny Highlights Reel

By: Rob | September 19th, 2009

So there are highlights from todays Russian Premier League match between Saturn and Spartak Moscow. Seems like quite a run of the mill match (the highlights are finished within a minute) with Saturn running out 2-1 winners. The clip claims to show All The Goals, which in a very real way, it does. But as our good friends at 101GG show us (clip after the jump) there has been a bit of editing so that we don’t notice the madness around Spartak Moscow’s penalty.

As Spartak prepared to take it, an oversized Russian supporter ran on to suggest how the penalty should be taken (he scores). The penalty is of course respotted, and then scored, but it seems the ball wasn’t on the spot and after much deliberation, he’s forced to take it again.

Eventually, as shown in the top video, he bangs it in anyway.

But why on earth would you leave all that drama out of a highlight reel?
