The Real Culprit Behind ‘That Dive’ From Morten Gamst Pedersen
By: chris | March 16th, 2009Shame if yesterday was spent cursing Blackburn mid Morten Gamst Pedersen’s soul to eternal damnation after his inexplicable dive against Arsenal on the weekend.
Of course you’d have been right at the time, as it really seemed to beggar belief. No only did he unashamedly dive searching desperately for the penalty, but he did so only after glancing around for a defender and prying eyes. Absolutely beyond comprehension. At least it was until now.
Clive Owen did it.
For the dive as seen by unknowing viewers, watch this.
Yes, that’s just about as bad as it gets.
But as if it weren’t enough, El-Hadji Diouf, ever a man of class, tried to end Manuel Almunia’s career as well.
Yeah, you expect teams down mired in the relegation fight to claw, scratch and cheat their way to points any way possible – not to mention those down 4-0 – but this is just pretty despicable any way you swing it.

Oh God, I’m from Norway and really ashamed by our very own Morten “Gannet” Pedersen. Now who’s thought him those tricks?
*sigh*

That tackle on Almunia was disgusting. Luckily he didn’t end up like Eduardo.

Kasia – I was thinking of the same comparison when I saw it. Awful tackle, and glad Almunia’s okay.

this reminds me of the time one of my teammates was rounding 3rd base and ate it for no reason in practice to which my coach immediately yelled out “sniper!”
amazing.

Seriously folks, isn’t the EPL governing body ever take these career ending tackles with a little more effective punishment? Imagine if that was done on on Ronaldo at Old Trafford, the red card would been out immediately!

Absolutely disgraceful from both players. That tackle was awful and the FA needs to step in with game bans for both players.
