Ah, Romário. Few players can provoke quite diverse opinions as he does. The guy's one of the most annoying people I've even seen in Brazilian football, yet he's one of the biggest geniuses to have played (inside the pitch at least).

Romário's objective is nothing new. Prior to leaving his club in Brazil, the club was arranging weekly friendly matches with amateur clubs just for the sake of having Romário scoring - they'd win by, say, 6-0 without even trying. That severely undermined the quest and made Romário's attempt a national joke, specially after they got to play against a "Masters" team (with players all above 40yo or something to that effect).

I hope he gets back to real business soon. 1000 or no 1000 goal, the guy is/was a genius, and this sad state of scoring affairs isn't helping his image.

Well said. The guy is making a joke of things. He could still probably score in Brazil. Go home and play there.
