The Toilet Makes Its Football League Debut

By: chris | August 11th, 2009

The Football League Show is a brand new BBC production about people who are good at football, but not that good. It, much like Football League footballers, has high expectations but sometimes falls through in that ‘ol execution department. Such as on this weekend’s debut show, when they cut from a Torquay United highlight to feature Kate Bosworth sitting on a toilet during a scene from the epic Blue Crush.

Some people theorize that this was a shameless ratings grab, which the Beeb deny, chalking it up to human error, technical failings, the reversal of the poles and Jesus. I also don’t buy it, as one only needs to ask a simple and straightforward question: wouldn’t you rather watch Kate Bosworth sit on a toilet than League Two?

Wait, don’t answer that.
