Thierry Henry to Sign with Barcelona. Again.
By: Bob | June 22nd, 2007
The on again, off again reports that Thierry Henry is leaving Arsenal for Barcelona are back on again and this time they are honest to goodness serious. According to those notorious “sources close to Barcelona,” TH14 is heading to Spain in exchange for 16 million pounds. That is the same asking price that Charlton want for Darren Bent. You would think that Arsenal could squeeze a bit more out of the deal. After scoring 174 goals in 254 games for Arsenal, it certainly is going to be strange seeing Henry in one of these uniforms. Eto’o, Ronaldinho, Messi and Henry. Will there be enough ball to go around in Barcelona?

The people, for lack of a better word, behind this ‘leak’ were apparently the same ‘people’ behind the Nani/Anderson transfer to Man Utd. I’m not so sure I really said anything there.

Okay, but “sources close to Barcelona” does not an official transaction make, right? I mean, I’ll admit this alarm does seem a little bit less false than the last couple thousand, but it still hasn’t been confirmed! Right? Please, let me know when it’s final - but until then, go easy on my heart.

Strange things are afoot in North London. Henry out the door, and Wenger on Madrid’s radar — one, and certainly both will be a loss for the Premier League…

World class strikers are coming cheap these days. Makes you wonder if there may be a player involved as well, Eidur perhaps?

Can I jump on the bandwagon now, or should I wait till the first game?

It’s a decent price, considering his age. I’m more worried about whether or not the city of Barcelona is big enough for all those egos (not Messi, but certainly the other 3).
By the way, there’s no way those jerseys are real. Barca wear white? Ha. I’m guessing Thierry will get Cruyff’s number 14 shirt. Not bad.

Is the statement released this morning official enough??
I thought that Arsenal were once again to rise up and become a force again, but I can’t see this happening now as the youngsters have no role model. And without Henry, will Wenger stay past his current contract? Who knows?
