Thirty of the All-Time Best Footballers

By: Bob | July 24th, 2007

There are a couple of ways that you can come up with rankings. You can hold a vote and let the people decide or you can simply determine the rankings yourself. Or in this case you can let someone else do all the work and then sit back and critique their selections. The category in question this time around is the best footballers of all time. Here are a couple of videos that lay out the top 30 – numbers 30-16 above, 15-1 below the jump. The order is up for debate, the selections are up for debate, some of the video is cool, and the music is unquestionably dodgy. Any players missing from this list or ones that don’t belong in the list?

lots and lots of Milan players on that list =D

and I think you can't really have a "greatest footballer" it's just not possible. I'd say, that these 30 are the greatest, there is not just one.
  • Mara
Ferenc Puskas SEVENTH?? What the hell? He should have been third at least.
  • builderarch
RONALDO SHOULD DEFINETLY BE ON THE LIST
  • Marcello
Ferenc Puskas should have been #1. The Black Spider guy was cool. All and all this way rubbish
  • And if you want two more players who played at AC Milan that probably deserve to be on this list instead of Maldini, try George Weah and Jimmy Greaves.
  • John
    They forgot Arthur Friedenreich.
  • J, I didn't say that he was a pathetic joke, I said putting him on the top 30 all time list is.
  • J
brian, u can't seriously call maldini a pathetic joke. it's obvious u aren't a milan fan but all lovers of the beautiful game have mad respect and appreciation for maldini's input. i'm trying really hard not to insult u for what u said so please be objective next time.
  • I would definitely take off:
    Maldini - that's just a pathetic joke
Ronaldinho - maybe when his career is over and he has all of Michael Jackson's art
Ronaldo - uh, yeah, a great poacher maybe

    And I would add:
    Johnny Johnstone - Scottish God
Kenny Dalglish - Scottish King, how many European Cups? Not just one. oh.
Eric Cantona - Just ask George Best

Also no keeper should ever be on the top 30 all time footballers list. period.
