This Weekend on The Offside and World Cup Blog: Fun Stuff You Won’t Want to Miss

By: Laurie | July 18th, 2009

Weekend Quiz coming in a few hours. In the meantime, here is some fun stuff happening on our sites this weekend that you WON’T want to miss:

From MAD at the Inter blog:

Well, several people might be committing seppuku or suffering catastrophic cardiac episodes on the Inter board (or the Barca board) depending on how this Ibra-Eto’o thing goes… it might be worth checking out both if you are fond of medical dramas. Or slasher pics. Or high DRAMA.

Sounds like a date.

And our Athletic Bilbao blogger Paul has his Caption this” post of the week currently up.

(Warning: You’ll have a hard time topping the first one. But try anyway.)

Andrea at the Mexico blog will be liveblogging Mexico-Haiti on Sunday. (Laurie says: Trust me. This will be a good one. Haiti is better than people expect.)

Says Andrea:

They’ll be at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX so the time will be 6 PM(Local)/ 4PM Pacific.

And Jennifer and Nathan at the LA Galaxy blog had a bet with Dave at the New York Red Bulls blog. Loser of the game posts the photoshopped picture of the winner’s choice.

New York got slaughtered. Dave’s punishment will be going up sometime Saturday morning. It will not be pretty. Stop by and enjoy his misery.

And speaking of the LA blog, this one’s for the ladies. I hear a rumor that a couple of stars removed their shirts for the cameras?

(I haven’t personally checked this out, of course. I’ll let you do it for me.)

And I believe Steve at Seattle Offside will be liveblogging the Seattle-Chelsea friendly.

I know the Seattle guys are pumped. 12:00 noon Seattle time, which I believe is 8:00 p.m. Chelsea time? Be there.

And last but far from least, Thad from our Man City blog will be liveblogging the Man City vs. Orlando Pirates friendly.

9:00 SA local time, 2:00 p.m. Man City time. The game will be shown on Man City’s official website, and a good time will be had by all.

“Warning: You’ll have a hard time topping the first one. But try anyway.” Thanks again Laurie. Unfortunately, it took so much strength to come up with something legitimately funny that i dont think that i will be able to make another joke for quite some time :-D

We love you too, Sauro! :-D

P.S. This time of year we have friendlies, MLS, and transfer rumors. That’s pretty much it. Feel free to take your complaints to the lazy slobs from around the world who have decided that the game should not be played in summer.

Not being able to remember the customized text is adding one more step in pushing a blog post. With Twitterfeed (erotikblogg+twitter, I don’t have to worry about anything, though it is certainly assuring to have a short URL of the same company, something which I can only get if I enable this option at WP. Please consider making customized text stick to the settings.
