Man Utd was bought for 1.593 billion dollars (1.13 EUR). I don't know how the NFL works, but the USA has a huge population and NFL is 1 big behemoth, whereas football has smaller self-contained leagues, with some of them paying more TV money etc etc to the teams in them, and some leagues being more popular than others.
