Trailer Park Posh and Becks

Every once in awhile I will find something in my inbox that is so strange, I just have to share. This is one of those times.
I got a link yesterday to a blog that’s devoted entirely to photoshopping pictures of celebrities to make them look like “ordinary people.” Exhibit A? This photo.
Look closely, boys and girls. Does it look familiar? Him: Five o’clock shadow and half-smile. Her: Turned up nose and lots of eyeliner. And no smile. (That’s the giveaway, isn’t it?)
Yes, this is what David and Victoria Beckham would look like if they’d been born in American and didn’t have tons of money to devote to NOT looking like this.

Where’d Bob go?

I miss Bob too. We all do. He was one of a kind. Fortunately for him but unfortunately for the rest of us, he’s chosen to pursue other things in life.
Bob was amazing at what he did, which makes it all that much harder for those of use who’ve been asked to come after him. It’s a slow process as we learn what works and what doesn’t. We’re trying. Bear with us.
I thought this was funny, given how the Beckhams devote so much time and energy and money to their appearance and their image. You obviously didn’t, and I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m looking for weekend filler when there are no real stories happening.

I like this seeing this sort of stuff on The Offside, and I don’t think it’s too far removed from the type of story Bob would post to get a chuckle.

Bob certainly would post something like this. Whatever “N” might say, Bob picked everyone who replaced him on this blog. He obviously trusted you with his baby, something he created.
Personally, I thought this was funnier than hell, and I’m quite sure Bob would too.
I also find it sort of weird that we’re talking about Bob like he’s dead or something. It’s really odd.

Talking about Bob like he’s dead. Yeah, we really are, aren’t we?
I traded e-mails with him last week and he’s alive and kicking and doing fundraising and grant writing for a non-profit that does good in the world, so he’s happy. Or… We can take comfort from the fact that he’s in a better place.
(Not that there’s any better place than this, but you know what I mean.) And on a humorous note, this post got a Deadspin link yesterday. So at least a couple of people besides me thought it was funny.
