Transfer Talk: Darren Bent is the New Thierry Henry

Premiership shopping bags
Not sure how long until Christmas, but there are now just 50 shopping days left until the Premiership season starts up again. As a result, some big money deals are starting to be struck and the good old rumour mill is spinning faster and faster every day. So hop on and see who may or may not be going where and for how much, depending on which tabloid you read.

Looks like Thierry Henry’s two years in the making £16 million transfer to Barclona is finally on. Barca’s attack now looks deadlier than the bubonic plague, and much more marketable.

Arsenal will attempt to replace their missing va-va-voom with either Carlos Tevez (who they’ll sign from whoever owns him) or Nicolas Anelka. Not sure how Gunners fans would greet the return on Le Incredible Sulk, but would be interesting to find out.

Meanwhile, Darren Bent could be joining Spurs, also for £16 million. Which means he’s just as good as Thierry Henry. Except he isn’t.

Manchester City want to end Shaun Wright-Phillips‘ spell on the Stamford Bridge pine, and he’s still available for a bargainish £10 million. But would SWP returning to City be like the little man admitting defeat?

Newcastle United could be getting themselves a cut-price Alan Smith from Man United. Presumably Big Sam saw something no one else did in Smith’s impotent England partnership with Michael Owen against Brazil this month.

Barcelona could also sign Ivorian defensive mid Yaya Toure from Monaco in the very near future. Yaya’s brother Kolo can pass on any messages via Theirry Henry.

And Barca could bounce back from their last day La Liga disappointment with a third signing, top notch Romanian defender Christian Chivu from Roma.

And it’s looking like intermittently brilliant USA winger DaMarcus Beasley could be frustrating Scotsmen with occassional glimpses of his talent next season. He should sign for Rangers in the next few days.

AC Milan have finally conceded defeat to Inter Milan in the battle to sign Cagliari’s Honduran forward David Suazo. Nice to see the Inter vs AC rivalry continuing of the pitch through the summer.

Barcelona is the new superpower of the world. They aren't gonna be defeated for another 5 years, so i'd build your young stars from the Under 21 teams, like Nani, Royston Drenthe, De Ridder, Lita, Babel, the list goes on and on.
