Transfer Talk: Juande Ramos to Sign Half the Spurs Squad?

Can you play right midfield? Then new Real Madrid boss Juande Ramos gives you the thumbs up.

According to The Daily Star, Ramos could be going back to Spurs for either Aaron Lennon or David Bentley, a rumour which ignores the fact that he didn’t seem too keen on either of them as right mids when he was actually in charge of them this season. Other right mids mentioned are Bayern Munich’s Bastien Schweinsteiger and Napoli’s Marek Hamsik.

You know who else plays right mid? Cristiano Ronaldo.

At least someone at Old Trafford has a sense of humour about the Ronaldo to Real story. One unnamed member of staff apparently went to the Man Utd Christmas party as Cristiano Ronaldo. In a Real Madrid shirt.

Apparently Ramos is also looking at Didier Zokora as a replacement for injured Mahamadou Diarra. So are Real Madrid the new (early season) Spurs? If I was a Real fan I’d be worried.

Looks like there could be a winter sale at West Ham, with [deep breath] Dean Ashton, Carlton Cole, Craig Bellamy, Lee Bowyer, Nigel Quashie (form a cue Big Four teams!), Calum Davenport and Luis Boa Morte all up for grabs. Good news if you’re a West Ham youth team player I guess.

Seems Zola is hoping to use any money raised to buy Giampaolo Pazzini from Fiorentina for £7m. Only problem is that Pazzini would prefer to stay in Serie A with a move to Sampdoria, possibly so as not to ruin his current average of three goals per game in London:

Harry Redknapp doesn’t want any of the above West Ham players, but he does want keeper Rob Green. So that’s another nail in Heurelho Gomes’ confidence coffin. Oh, and Redknapp wants Matthew Upson too, and will bid £16m for the pair. Will West Ham even have eleven players by the end of January?

Uhhhhh... If Real Madrid want Didier Zokora, of all players, I'd be happy to send him away. He has been far from great this season (and the seasons before that). And to be honest, I just can't see Ramos taking anyone with him. He led us to the worst start in the history of our club, for christ's sake.
Corey: Bentley is an explosive player by anyone's standards, I should think, but just the fact of Ramos' bad time at Spurs will overshadow any luring tactics.

Yeah, this was the same way at Sevilla when he was supposed to swoop in from Spurs and sign Capel, Luis Fabiano, Palop, and everyone else's mother.

Not happening. As Corey said, Ramos has little control over the situation.

Totally agree Corey. If anything, I think it's just lazy journalism with someone at The Daily Star putting two+two together and making seven.

I dont think Ramos will get any of the players listed, he has little control over transfers. The wheels are already turning for a right midfield, and a new DM wont be bought, trust me. Real Madrid, not to sound snoody, does not need Zokora or David Bentley, who are average players in the EPL. That just does not make sense. Then again, there was a time where we bought Thomas Gravesen...
