Transfer Talk: Window Opens Tomorrow, Hold onto Your Hats
By: Daryl | June 30th, 2008
You know what tomorrow’s date is don’t you kids? It’s July 1st 2008. Which means the transfer window blows open in less than 24 hours and all those rumours swirling around outside will be allowed in.
- Emmanuel Adebayor continues to be linked with a €50m move away from Arsenal, and he isn’t doing much to dispel the rumours. Potential destinations include AC Milan and Barcelona. And maybe even Chelsea.
- According to El Mundo Deportivo, Andriy Shevchenko could be headed to Barcelona too, but in a loan move designed to take his wages off Chelsea’s books.
- Rafa Benitez is still planning to get hold of both Villa’s Gareth Barry and Spurs’ Robbie Keane. Just as soon as the Liverpool boss is done celebrating Spain’s Euro 2008 win. Villa may not be able to hold on to Barry, but Spurs aren’t letting go of Keane without a fight.
- The rumours linking Inter Milan with Frank Lampard are looking increasingly realistic. Mourinho loves him some Lampard, eh? I hope this happens, just to see what happens when an England international plays abroad in a non-English speaking country.
- Sport.es are speculating that River Plate’s 22 year old Colombian goal machine Radamel Falcao has caught the eye of both Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Probably because he does things like this:

If Arsenal can get $50 mil for Ade, then bye bye!

I was kind of hoping that Chelsea would at least give Sheva a chance on the field–maybe until January?–seeing as he may not be competing with Drogs for PT anymore. I can’t wait to see what side Chelsea line up versus Pompey in August.

Yeah, I think the Chelsea team that starts 2008/9 is going to look a lot lot different different to the one that finished 2007/8.

If I was Lampard, I think I would go. He doesn’t get enough credit in this country anymore really, and maybe a move to Serie A will keep him fresh. And give Don Fabio an excuse to go back home to watch him every now and then.

If Lampared wants to prove he should start over Gerrard, then he should do it with Inter in Serie A, because Gerrard owns the Premiership.

Of course. So were Owen and Woodgate. But right now there’s no one.

I hope he ends up in Man Utd.. They do well with youngsters.. If he goes to Real Madrid, it’s a big waste of time..
Btw, speaking of River and Real Madrid.. Wtf happened to Saviola?
