another thing i hate about those mega concerts is a lot of games get rescheduled.. happened two times already this season – madonna, and some other ’super star’.. gah

U2 paid for new pitch in Poland’s (still) National Stadium in Chorzow (place where we beat the Britts in 1973) – in order for it to be ready for the World Cup Qualifiers in the coming weeks

so they are not all bad

Let it be known, that in EVERY stadium that U2 is playing, they have/had/will buy the pitch. Whatever any particular venue/promoter/owner decides to do with those funds, is up to them. Upwards of $1,000,000.00 has been paid for just one stadium to replace their pitch. Both the band and their Production Manager know what their show can do to a pitch, so part of the agreement for every venue, is that the tour will pay to have the pitch replaced.
