Underwater Soccer: Diving is allowed

By: Bob | May 31st, 2007

This week’s edition of odd games takes away from terra firma to the sea. Unlike Underwater Football, Underwater Hockey and Underwater Rugby, the sport of Underwater Soccer does not appear to have much of a following. Heck, it is not even recognized by the World Underwater Federation. What a travesty! As far as I can tell from the video above, the sport is played much like regular soccer only each player must jump around like they are in slow motion, they must fix goals when they fall apart and instead of receiving red cards players are sent into a special holding tank where they must swim with sharks.

    HAHAHA... "diving is allowed".

How else would they get red or yellow cards then?

That would be fun, but it could use a bigger goal. Shooting a football underwater into a tended goal the size of a laundry basket is going to yield very little. I like this sport - it would be do wonders for my personal record keepy-uppy time.
