Usain Bolt Bringing World Record Ego To Footy

By: The Offside | June 9th, 2011

usain bolt 3Often times, great athletes need great egos in order to drive them to excel beyond that which they may do otherwise, to be become the great athletes they are. It’s a part of the process.

Usain Bolt is a great athlete. He also has a great ego. Really, really great ego.

Apparently he’s suffering from delusions too, as he claims to be good enough to play for Manchester United when he hangs up his track spikes and tight-fitting onezie.

After his latest run in Oslo, he said: “I really think I want to try soccer after I retire because I’ve watched football over the years and I think I could be a good contender and I’m looking forward to it.

“Yes I definitely think I’m good enough to play for Manchester United because I’m quick, and I have a little skills, I have to refine it a little bit but I should be good enough.”

Obviously there is an appeal to the fastest man ever, and the counter with numbers at 800mph would surely be somewhat successful, but that “a little skills” bit is rather important. Fergie might actually agree.

Doesn’t mean City won’t stash him on the bench on £350k a week, though, just in case.

Well, Bebe plays for Manchester United, so he might not be -that- delusional.
