I saw this photo of the new US Men’s National Team jersey yesterday and burst out laughing.

Seriously, does this just scream “Tad and Buffy Go to Prep School” or what?

  @Gianfranco - definitely the red shirt with the sash was mint. The logo was old school and not shit, the don’t tread on me snake on the sleeve was deadly (and could make a fine team crest on its own).

  I don’t HATE this new shirt, I mean it’s still better than the blue w/white pinstripes monstrosity. And I do like the two standards they use (blue with horizontal bar, white with vertical bar). My main complaint is the badge, which is clip art crap.

  For cold weather games, they should just add a turtleneck, and a beret, and a monocle. Maybe the goal is to get the other side so distracted laughing and taking pictures of the team that they can score on an open goal.

  I agree with Lucas- definitely better than the blue w/ white pinstripes. And come on, it’s better than the stars and stripes they wore back in the 90’s…

  It’s crap! It’s time to drop Nike, their designers don’t know what the hell they are doing. Just look at the MLS logos. New badge is also needed, I agree.

  If you want a preppy collar jersey the look no further that Italy’s new away jersey. They didn’t need a new kit or the world cup to come off more arrogant than they already are.

  US need a new logo and maybe go with Adidas so they can market along side the MLS.

  i rather like it, though it is…staid.

  speaking of prep school-ness, i was on pottery barn teen’s website, looking for curtains, and on the homepage the first thing i saw pics of landon donovan, brian ching, and david beckham. which morphed into a picture of david beckham. they are introducing their mls bedding collection.
