Bob,

While being able to handle public criticism is a necessity for a pro athlete, I have to say I can see Nastase's point here. He returned to his old club after spending the prime years of his career in Italy, but instead of appreciating him for his current abilities the coach and the fans made him the target of their anger over losing a game they were expected to lose. The reason Nastase is not in Serie A is because he can't handle top flight forwards anymore. If you blame a man over water being wet, don't be shocked if he tells you "screw you guys, I'm going home".
