Venezuela v Bolivia: Good Thing That Didn’t Count

By: chris | March 28th, 2008

There were a few international stragglers who didn’t get the memo that all the games were actually Wednesday, not Thursday. Bolivia and Venezuela: guilty.

Game’s going fine, nil - nil, and both keepers had made some fantastic saves which surely will go greatly appreciated as both attempt to qualify for WC 2010 (probably futile attempts, however). Then Venezuela’s keeper, Renny Vega, goes to clear the ball and instead hammers it off the back of his defender, Gabriel Cichero, and into the net. The game, and I know all of you see this coming, ended 1-0, as it always does on a keeper error. Good thing this game didn’t count, eh.
