Weekend Dose 02.22.09
By: Laurie | February 22nd, 2009Some news to read as we take a look at this gentle, dainty, delicate Up Yours to everybody who says that Nicolas Anelka can’t score big goals in big games:
(And to anybody who feels compelled to point out that this goal was basically all Lampard? Go write your own damn blog.)
- Ladies, this one’s for you. Voting starts tomorrow in The Hottie World Cup! (Hottie World Cup)
- And to continue the theme, Melissa does her part for the good of all womankind by sharing a Carlos Bocanegra video. (USA World Cup Blog)
- To balance things out a bit, gents, check out the Chivas Girl tryouts (MLSnet)
- Why Paulo Assunçao doesn’t want to play against Porto (Atletico Madrid Offside)
- In support of The Offside (or something), Sport Is a TV Show rebrands the Premier League. (Must admit, these made me laugh.) (Sport is a TV Show)
- David James reflects on what records really mean to players. (Just for the record, I love everything David James writes.) (The Observer)
- We knew it was just a matter of time, right? A blog devoted solely to the promotion of Special 1 TV (Special1TV)
- How did Hiddink beat Villa? Tactical tweaks, little details and smiles. (The Guardian)
- And more Hiddink: Who are his youths? (And bonus points to the first person to tell me what movie that title makes me think of.) (View from the Terrace)

I just went and voted for the Americans at the Hottie World Cup and FYI Paolo De Ceglie looks like Ashton Kutcher (and that’s not a compliment). Our Baby Bradley is losing the hottie fight in a bad way. Torres is also getting his ass beat but the pic they put up is awful!

My Cousin Vinny, of course.
I don’t need bonus points, but a modicum of gratitude would not be out of line here.

Alex, I believe one should always take bonus points when offered. You never know when they might come in handy.
But here’s some gratitude for a job well done as well.
