Weekend Quiz Answers: Who Did Those Eyes Belong To?

Finally, the answers we’ve all been waiting for. Who did The Eyes belong to?

You guys are amazingly good. All of the right answers had been guessed by the third guess. Of course, not all of them were guessed by the same person until much later.

Special kudos to Nick, who guessed third and got an amazing 6 out of 7, and to Jina, who was the first person to get all seven right.

I’m amazed you guys got this one. For me, the eyes don’t reflect the full face at all.

Freddy Ljungberg (Sweden)
Yes, the infamous underwear ad. This is the one I expected everybody to get, because we’ve all seen the original photo. Willingly or not.

Fourth Eyes blonged to…

Luca Toni (Italy)
As reader “goose” said, “Luca Toni, if only for the curlies.”
(Ahem. Mind. Gutter. Out.)

Fifth Eyes belonged to…

Florent Malouda (France)
This is another one I’m surprised anybody got. Without the cheekbones, I don’t see Malouda.

Sixth Eyes belonged to

Sergio Ramos (Spain)
But I did think these eyes looked like Fernando Torres’.

Seventh Eyes belong to…

Andrei Arshavin (Russia)
Context is everything. This one was all about the expression on the face, wasn’t it? Another one I’m surprised so many got.

Goose, I thought this was fun too, and I was thinking about doing this as a regular feature if you guys are interested. There are a lot of possibilities -- various facial features and/or body parts. And we could do it generally, or by league, or by competition. (MLS or WC 2006, anyone?)

I'm off for the month of August, so it will start up again in September unless you can talk Daryl or Chris into making them up.

Eck. 4 out of 7. Malouda was a beast, there's no way I would have gotten that. And Luca! His eyes are usually all easy-going like with his signature smile, so that threw me off. Haha, I did pretty badly, but it was fun. Hurray for quizzes.
