Weekend Quiz: Let’s Create Our Own News. No Skill Required.
By: Laurie | January 17th, 2009
I am bored with our standard quiz format, so we’re going to try something different this week.
Remember MadLibs? Those little booklets your mom gave you in the car to keep you from pummeling your sister on the way to grandma’s, where you come up with a noun, a verb, etc. and then you later get to see how they fit into the story? That’s what we’re doing.
It’s been such a wonderful week for fake news, we’re going to create our own. In a separate post, I’ve written up a football-related story that could, with the right words, have come from an actual news event. Or not.
Pick one word or phrase for each of the following. I’ll post the “news story” tomorrow, along with some of the more interesting responses.
(This could be hysterical, or it could go horribly, horribly wrong and be really dumb and boring. But blogging is all about experimentation, right? Nothing ventured, nothing gained?)
Use your imagination and pick one for each of the following. Leave you answers in the comments.
1. [city]
2. [player name]
3. [club name]
4. [large sum of money]
5. [manager of club in #3]
6. [a skill or talent]
7. [a positive personal quality]
8. [bar name]
9. [beverage]
10. [something that can hold liquid]
11. [song name]
12. [piece of furniture]
13. [another player name]
14. [third player name]
15. [vehicle]
16. [female celebrity]
17. [large object]
18. [living creature]
19. [inaminate object]
20. [a second club name]
