Weekend Quiz: Who (and Where) are These Players?

After getting some feedback that the tough quizzes are more fun… Well, this may qualify and it may not. (Seriously, I never have any idea how hard these things are. Or aren’t. The players I think will be guessed by the first person never get guessed, and the players I think are hard get guessed immediately. It’s a tough life, being a blogger.)

Hints for the week: 1) All of these players play the same position. You get to determine which position this is.

2) Not all of these guys are starters. Some may not even be currently playing.

Oops, my bad. Even I thought I had included Mad Jens Lehmann in this quiz. I didn't. #4 has not yet been guessed either. I would have thought he would have been, even if only as seen on dartboards in a certain country. (Hint, hint.)

Excellent guesses this week! All have been guessed by someone or other except for #2 and #8.

A couple of hints.

#2 is a personal favorite of mine and plays in one of the leagues I follow closely. (hint, hint.) The seventies porn star facial hair was, fortunately, just a short-lived fad.

#8 is playing in a top league, but is perhaps not a starter. But I still thought he was well-known enough to be guessed by somebody.

You know I think some people here must have a tough time understanding English. When you said "all these players play the same position" I don't think you meant "guess random players from all different positions"
