Weekend Watch: Battling in Belgrade

Some of the matches you should really pay attention to this weekend while contemplating the meaning of life….

Saturday

Partizan vs. Red Star – It doesn’t get more heated than the “eternal derby” in Belgrade and with Partizan seven points behind their rivals this could be the beginning of their end.

Real Betis vs. Real Madrid – They are keeping it real in Spain

Crawley Town vs. Grays Athletic – Currently in last place in England’s Nationwide Conference, if Crawley Town isn’t careful they’ll end up playing our men’s league team next year.

Gamba Osaka vs. Kawasaki Frontale – The J-League is heating up with Gamba a mere five points ahead of Kawasaki with the dreaded Urawa Reds sandwiched in between in second place.

Sunday

Empoli vs. Palermo – The Sicilian wonders from Palermo try to run their winning streak to four on the road against a better than anticipated team from Empoli.

Barcelona vs. Emelec – One of the great rivalries in South America will once again be on display in Ecuador.

Nueva Chicago vs. Boca Juniors – Call us old school but this New Chicago just doesn’t taste as good as Classic Chicago.

Crawley Town has worked wonders. Deducted ten points for going into administration, they have survived one 'winding-up' order and are out of the minus for points, but they could still go out of business by the end of the year.
If they hadn't had the points deducted in the first place, they would have been near the top of the Nationwide Conference instead of being at the bottom!
