It’s a Party at Our New MLS Offside!

The MLS preseason has begun. What does this mean?

It means that MLS teams are busy building their confidence by playing college teams. It means front offices are wheeling and dealing to get the best players. It means that DC United’s Kevin Payne is using Jedi mind tricks* to get the LA Galaxy to swap Quavas Kirk for Greg Vanney.

And it means that we at The Offside are stepping up our MLS coverage.

I will admit that the address is not officially brand new. If you had typed in “MLS.theoffside.com” last week, you would have gotten all of the posts from our individual team bloggers. And you still will. But starting this week we’re offering all this, plus more.

More news. More links. More coverage of things like injuries, trade rumors, business issues, match reports and fun personal player/coach/manager details that might not fit on The Offside’s main page.

(And plus? I get another opportunity to indulge both my love of MLS limericks and the utterly inappropriate humor I find in the phrase “groin injury.” Life is truly good.)

Also, if you’re an MLS blogger, we are looking to spread the love. We want to share any and all information we can about the league. Mainstream media may not give our sport coverage, but we will. My plan is to share links to interesting MLS stuff on a regular basis, both from our own bloggers and others. This could include you.
