Werder Bremen and Liverpool Getting Predictable

By: Daryl | October 18th, 2008

Predictably brilliant to watch that is. Seems like every weekend Werder Bremen serve up a multi-goal caserole for all to enjoy in the Bundelsiga, while Liverpool put together a last minute comeback cake in the Premier League.

Slightly odd cooking metaphors aside, they both did it again today:

Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund duked out a 3-3 draw at the Weserstadion, with all six goials coming in roughly the last half an hour and three goals in the last four minutes.

Dortmund led 2-1 in the 87th before a Claudio Pizarro brace looked to have won it 3-2 for Werder, only for Mohamed Zidan to level things deep into stoppage time. Incredible stuff.

Meanwhile a Fernando Torres-less Liverpool hosted Wigan at Anfield:

Despite twice going behind to Amr Zaki (who else?) strikes, Rafa Benitez’s claimed a dramatic 3-2 win thanks to Dirk Kuyt’s acrobatic 85th minute winner.

Here’s hoping for more pleasantly predictable action next week.

Arsenal have come back many more times in the past few seasons as Liverpool, and they did it today again too. Plus they play more entertaining football, so while Liverpool are 'predictable' i think i'll stick with watching someone else.
