What Motivates Footballers More: Pornography or Violence?

We found out about two unique methods of motivating footballers today. The first involves watching pornography as a reward for winning matches, the second involves breaking blocks of wood in half. Guess which one comes from Denmark.
As revealed in Scotland’s Daily Record, FC Copenhagen’s players are being rewarded for every win with a team screening of two skin flicks courtesy of team sponsors BN Agentur (who are in the naked film biz).
The Spoiler have an artist’s rendition of how this helps Copenhagen’s Jesper Grønkjær go past a defender. And it seems to be working, with Copenhagen taking 9 wins from 13 so far and being just one point off the top of the league.
AFC Wimbledon’s tactics are a little more aggressive. Basically their new motivational coach Tom Bushnell has them shouting things and breaking through blocks of wood. If you watch that video (only available via BBC I’m afraid, no embedding) you’ll see that the players starting out looking bored and end up very very excited.
So now we know what footballers respond to: sex and violence. And money of course. But what motivates them more: getting wood or breaking wood? We’ll know for sure by the end of the season based Copenhagen and AFC Wimbledon’s league positions.
