Who Wants to See the Ladies Slide Tackle Landon Donovan?

This one looks like fun.

If you’re hanging around SoCal on January 26, you’re going to want to see this soccer charity match at the Home Depot Center. It will include a lot of current and former US internationals, which is always entertaining.

The really fun part, though? It’s co-ed, and not all the players’ sports are/were soccer.

The game is sponsored by Mia Hamm and her husband, baseball player Nomar Garciaparra, so I’m assuming they’ll be on the field. (Love Mia. And I’m glad she got out before that whole Mean Girls Hope Solo thing. In my eyes she remains unsullied.) Proceeds will benefit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and the Mia Hamm Foundation’s work for bone marrow transplants and women’s sports, so what’s not to like?

Wonder what position she plays. Think she could slide tackle Landon Donovan? Really hard? Cleats up?
