Why We Loved YouTube (and DailyMotion) in 2008, Part 1

Instead of the standard year-end review, we thought we’d take a look at some of the most interesting and entertaining videos that we’ve posted on The Offside this year. This is Part I. Look for more as the week progresses.


Yes, it’s been a year. In January, the puppet Jose made his debut:


And then we have my favorite video of the year, when Bertie the Bee does the streaker smackdown. (As Martha said at the time, “The video features a streaker and his bits, and therefore is NSFW.”)


And now, one of the best diving videos ever made:


And we were entertained by the Worst Sitter Misses.


And we were also amused by the totally bad-ass Olli Kahn song. Or at least I was. I haven’t been able to get it out of my head all year long. (Lyrics translation here, as German speakers debate “cleats” vs. “pimples.”)
