Sam - I'm not trying to prevent Mexico and USA from advancing, I'm just saying the top teams should play each other more frequently in whatever format so they're more prepared in the World Cup itself.

Give the highest 3 ranked teams a bye to 10 team table and then let the rest of the teams play their way into a table through 7 4 or 5-team groups. Then the US and Mexico play 20 games to qualify, same as CONMEBOL, but they play the games against every other Top 10 team instead of playing home and away against Dominica to "advance" to the next round.

18 games against the other top 9 teams in CONCACAF is a lot better for development than 4 games vs. clearly inferior competition before advancing to a group stage that segregates the other top two sides in separate groups. The system is rigged to get Mexico and the USA into the final group of 6 where there are 3 guaranteed WC qualifying spots.

Doggy- you think Conmebol would ever agree to that or Jack Warner's carribean mafia voting block?

And I disagree that this is a guaranteed through for Mexico. Canada are getting better, Hondorus has the best striker in the region and Jamaica are better than some of the teams in other groups. This year it was designed to give the US and Costa Rica a free ride to the hex.

Sam: Merge the qualifying of CONCACAF and COMMEMBOL together. Let 45 nations fight for 8 places. Done.

The CONCACAF bracket is designed to produce 2 years of horrible matches that ensure Mexico and the US ALWAYS qualify. The kicker is they never have competitive matches that prepare them for the better competition in the World Cup. Enjoy sucking forever CONCACAF.
