Worst Blown Goal Ever

By: Bob | September 25th, 2006

For all the brilliance of a goal like Didier Drogba’s and the all the wonder that a strike like Xabi Alonso’s inspires, there are poor saps out there who get paid to kick a ball and end up doing a worse job than your 2-year-old nephew could do. The thing about this one is that it probably would take more talent to deliberately miss the goal than it would to score and for that reason alone we applaud the brilliance of the player involved.

Surprised you haven’t found Simon Charlton’s goal for Oldham Athletic v Gillingham on Saturday. He scored from a further distance than Alonso did against the ‘Toon’.
    Dare you to find it?

I still think Kanu’s miss from a foot is the worst blown goal I’ve seen. Still don’t see why this guy even touched the ball as it was going to roll in anyway.

Yeah… I didnt quite understand when I was reading the article how it could be harder to miss than get it in; thought it was an overexageration.. but no… I mean wow… Yeah he should’ve just let it roll in I suppose, but who scould ever even THINK that that could happen..?

Seen better ones even in my own personal life. Missing from 1 yard away is a fucking joke anyways you can really laugh about, there ain’t nothing more because it ain’t allowed to lynch anybody anymore.

the only explanation is that he was trying to be ronaldinho in the Nike ad and hit the crossbar. :)

that wasn’t really as hard to do since the ball was bouncing..imagine if it had been on the ground and he had found the crossbar..now THAT would take some talent.
