You can watch all the 2007/2008 Serie A Games Online

One of the more frequently asked questions I receive is how do I follow games from around the world when they aren’t on television. The answer is that I use a complex (at least for me), patchwork system of online sites that sometimes are reliable and sometimes are not. This system is starting to become easier as the quality and reliability of online broadcasts improve. It is also becoming easier thanks to one-stop sites like SerieA.tv.

Beginning this weekend, if you live in the Americas or in Asia you can watch the entire 2007/2008 Serie A season on your computer for less than 100 bucks. The games are shown both live and on demand. It sounds almost too good to be true, but according to our Italy blog’s research it looks legitimate. The president and CEO of the company that is running the operation is Philippe Blatter, the nephew of FIFA head honcho Sepp Blatter.

My plan is to purchase one of the individual games to gage the quality before I dive into buying the whole season. This type of product is great news for those of us who don’t have consistent television access to our favorite teams and leagues. If any has any other sites for other leagues that they use for online viewing leave them in the comments field. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link, Isaiah. I've tried to check out a few matches here. My experience was mixed. Though I was able to watch a few (relatively pixelated) games, other times the stream was down at the last minute and not working or it cut out half way through. Bummer.

After some frustration I started looking around and I found all the games at http://www.JumpTV.com. They stream all of the games from SerieA in North America (and Latin America too apparently) live and on demand which is pretty sweet. The stream quality was great as you can "tune your video" and pick the best bandwidth for your connection. This was cool as I was on wifi at Starbucks. Has anyone else tried this? Does anyone have a promo code for the games? I don't mind dropping a few bucks to watch AC Milan or Roma but I think there are codes circulating to get a discount.

Visit www.channelchooser.com , I haven tried yet but it says that there is "premiere League of England and Serie A' to watch the games online. We have to wait until '1 September' to understand if this is true or not.....

Daniel, Sopcast isn't the greatest service, but if you find the right sites you can get links to all of the games you can think of. livefooty.doctor-serv.com for instance always has a long list of games they're linking to, most of which are on sopcast. The quality is lacking, of course, but it is free, after all.

Christ, why doesn't every league do this? From what I can gather, France had a similar program in the 2002-3 season, but then dropped it for some reason.

Possibly, Sam. It looks like it is a username/password system but I haven't gone through the whole process of signing up yet.

So how does this work, exactly? Just like MLSLive.tv? If so, is it possible to just get someone's name and password and watch the games that way?
