Could not imagine a better description of Sunderland Sex Tape! It should absolutely be the sub-title on the DVD jacket. (At least some of Arsenal’s passes might have been attractive even when they failed to finish…)

btb, “rabo” refers to an animal’s tail in Spanish… which I think might be where the term originates.

I sorta can’t believe I didn’t know (at the least, had forgotten) such a cool term! And what a sweet goal.

Also, “loads of players doing it without much purpose.”? Slightly disappointing. I can’t decide if that refers to the latest Sunderland sex tape or Arsenal’s inability to score goals after 23-pass set-ups.

The Vazquez goal was the first time I’d seen a goal scored on a rabona, but here’s one by Dave de Jong from a couple years ago in Germany. It seems like a bizarre thing to try, but in this clip de Jong says he practiced them since he was a kid, so when he saw the ball and didn’t think he could quite reach it with his left foot, his intuition was to just do a rabona. Pretty awesome.
