Zidane Considers Return to Real Madrid!

By: Laurie | December 17th, 2007

zidane2.jpgBreaking news: Zinedine Zidane says he’ll consider returning to Real Madrid!

Yes! It’s true! He says it himself!

Well, okay, sure, what he actually said was that he’d consider returning as coach of one of the Real youth teams. Madrid being where he currently lives, and the youth team being where at least one son, Enzo, is currently playing.

“I did not plan anything but maybe it will become reality,” he told the French press. “I cannot see myself in an office or as a manager.

“For the moment I want to enjoy things I couldn’t do while I was playing. When the moment comes I will be happy to work with the kids and give back to football what it has taught me.”

Okay, I know that headline was cruel. Believe me, nobody knows it more than me. As penance, I’ll offer up one of my favorite Zidane compilation videos and hope that you’ll forgive me after you’ve seen it. If you’re a Zidane fan, it’s magical.

The buildup can be compared to … your mother telling you your going to Disney World only to stop you outside the gates and kick you in the nuts.

    I had such a poor childhood. :’(

So James, what you’re saying is that this childhood trauma led to lifelong and incurable masochism. And THIS is why you’re a soccer fan.

You’re among friends here. We all understand.

    ;-)

Yeah, when I saw the title of that article, I was partially frightened and partially elated. I mean, I don’t want to see the wonderfulness that is Zizou be faced with the crap that other managers go through, but then again, I just want Zizou. A man like that shouldn’t be stuck at home all day.

But coaching the kids team? It’s the best of both worlds.
