I thought it was fun; even though the film didn’t help to ‘unravel zidane’. Anyway, it was nice to watch him picking up dibbits n pushing them back into the ground. It’s not so much a documentary as it is a live action flick! He gets red carded at the end (not for headbutting though).

It is probably a good thing he didn’t watch France play. They resembled the Knicks today. Might have given him thought to come out of retirement.

No, Anon, I didn’t ‘go’ to see it at all, I downloaded it for free and watched it three times because I wanted to like it, but found nothing rewarding about it. Have you seen it, Anon? Enjoy the endless shots of Zidane’s eyes, brow, feet, the stadium lights, and all other sorts of crap other than the game. If the point was to show how a genius ‘thinks’ or ‘works’ while in the midst of his art, it took a bad approach. If the point was to show the insignificance or even significance of a football match, it failed miserably. If the point was to be a two hour long boring Mogwai video, kudos. If someone got something better out of it, than congrats. I didn’t it. And don’t give me any Zidane is an absurdist/abstract artist of the pitch. Sorry, he’s not, he just makes some pretty moves… occassionally.

I’m with you, Bob — the movie is a phenomenal piece of art, but I’ll agree with greg that it’s definitely not a soccer movie.

Stunning? It’s pointless. I’ve seen it three times. It’s not a soccer movie and it fails miserably at being an ‘art movie’.
