Zlatan’s Move To Barca Was Always In The Cards

By: chris | July 28th, 2009

Take a good look at this picture of Zlatan lounging about during his Malmo days, taken sometime ’round the turn of the millennium. In it you’ll notice a couple of things:

i. A desperate need for freshly elasticized sweat socks.

ii. Pictures of Ronaldo – three to be precise.

The key is not, in fact, in the sweat socks, but rather in the pictures of Ronaldo. We can safely assume Zlatan was, and possibly still is, a fan of The Tubby One – then again who wasn’t. In fact television cameras once caught him being a huge Ronaldo fan. A huge fan and a creep….

…not that the two are mutually exclusive.

On the bed you can see Zlatan reading a book with Ronaldo at Inter on the cover, the team from which Ibra just extracted himself. On the computer, you can vaguely see the red & blue of Barca adorning a svelte Ronaldo, Ibra’s new team, leading us to the conclusion that this picture was taken prophetically to inform us of Zlatan’s career lineage.

And from this, we can EXCLUSIVELY (!) tell you, the reader, his next move beyond Catalonia: the Brazilian national team.

Cue the reader who says, “Uh…dude, you’re such an idiot. FIFA rules state that once you’ve played for one national team…” in five…four…three…

Actually, I was thinking that his next team will be Real Madrid and then Milan, like the Real Ronaldo…

To end up back at Ajax or Malmo in his dotage!

We have it all mapped out.

    Good laugh, thanks!

Seeing 18? 19? year old Ibra in his room is oddly surreal.

@johonna: More like, Milan in his dotage. :) They wouldn’t have him if he were still young and able to play.
